10-Part Michael Jordan Documentary Coming Next Year

The series will be produced by ESPN and Netflix.

ESPN Films and Netflix announced they are in the midsts of creating a 10-part, 10-hour documentary on the life and basketball career of Michael Jordan. It's set to be released sometime in 2019.

The 14-time All-Star, 10-time scoring champion, five-time regular-season MVP, six-time NBA champion and six-time NBA Finals MVP has also agreed to be a part of the project. 

Jordan is currently the pincipal owner of the NBA's Charlotte Hornets and continues to be known as a basketball icon through Nike's Air Jordan brand. 

The documentary will be produced by Jason Hehir, who also created sports docs like "The Fab Five," "The ’85 Bears" and "Andre the Giant." Creators are touting 500 hours of never-before-seen footage they have, from Jordan's final championship run with the Chicago Bulls in the 1997-1998 season. 

The title is called "The Last Dance."
