UNDATED (KMOX) — Cat lovers need to check their pantries for recalled cat food.

The J.M. Smucker company announced a voluntary recall of specific types of 9 Lives Protein Plus wet food this week.

That's because there are low levels of Vitamin B1 in the food, which could cause cats to develop a B1 deficiency if ate over the course of several weeks.

If you have any of the Protein Plus Tuna & Chicken or Tuna & Liver cans with a “best if used by” date of Marth 27th, 2020 through November 14th, 2020, throw them away.
