Students and staff at Affton High School get to stay home today thanks to a power outage.

School officials say an outage affecting 155 Ameren customers on MacKenzie north of Gravois is affecting "a significant portion of the building." Ameren doesn't have an estimated time of restoration at this point.

No other Affton Schools are affected.

Also, outages are forcing Parkway Schools to close Claymont Elementary, Adventure Club and Community Education classes.

Whitfield School in Creve Coeur will have a late start today due to a power outage.
