ST. LOUIS (AP) - "Today'' show weatherman Al Roker is filming at St. Louis' Gateway Arch as five years of construction to renovate the tourist attraction come to a close.

The St. Louis Post- Dispatch reports that Roker broadcast part of the NBC morning show in front of the arch just after the sun rose Thursday morning. Roker also filmed segments Wednesday about the renovated and expanded arch museum and visitor center.

The arch is about 630 feet tall. Roker got a tour of the monument to westward expansion and took an elevator to the top, where he looked at the window at the view of the city and the Mississippi River. He described it as "spectacular.''
