Albert Pujols is two hits from No. 3,000 for his career. He got two base knocks Wednesday night for the Los Angeles Angels (a home run and a double), and can reach the milestone tonight at home against Baltimore. Thursday's game is the Angels last home game, before heading to Seattle and then Colorado for a five-game road trip. So what are the chances that Pujols hits No. 2,999 and 3,0000 tonight?

Chris Tillman is set to pitch for the O's and Pujols is 4 for 15 against him in their careers. So playing the percentages of that .267 batting average, if Pujols gets to the plate four times against Tillman, he should get at least one hit.

Then if Tillman is pulled, Pujols is hitting an even .300 against all of Baltimore's current pitching staff. So if he gets at least six at bats, the chances are in Pujols' favor for a multi-hit game.

The three-time MVP already has nine multi-hit games this season and currently has a batting average of .248.

Now, lets say he doesn't get his two hits tonight. Well the numbers suggest he's still probably going to reach 3,000 this weekend in Seattle. He has started 29 of LA's 30 games this season and don't think for second that manager Mike Scioscia would hold his first baseman/DH out of the lineup, just for Pujols to reach the milestone at home.

Against Seattle's current pitching staff, Pujols is hitting .250, but when he's batting at Safeco Field that average drops to .241. However, through 10 games in Seattle since the start of the 2017 season Pujols has a .364 average.

On Friday he'll face Mike Leake, who Pujols hits .364 against.

But what if Pujols suddenly finds himself in a slump?

His longest hit-less streak this was 11 at bats on March 30 through April 2. But since, then he's been hitting .304.

So it's a pretty safe bet, Pujols will reach 3,000 hits by the end of this weekend and St. Louis fans are likely going to celebrate him and those 2,073 hits he had with the Cardinals.
