Storms Knock Out Power For 100,000-Plus Homes

Ameren Missouri and Illinois are working to restore power and have a cooling shelter open in North St. Louis County.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - After the power was knocked out for more than 100,000 homes in the greater St. Louis area, Ameren Missouri and Illinois are worried about the heat wave coming this weekend. 

Temperatures are expected to be around 100-degrees, but it will feel closer to 110-degrees. 

St. Louis County is opening a cooling shelter at 9:30 Friday morning at the North County Recreation Complex on Redman Ave.
