Baby critically injured in shooting at north St. Louis County home

Police said the 18-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.

ST. LOUIS (AP/KMOX) - Authorities say a baby was wounded when shots were fired into the bedroom of a St. Louis area home.

St. Louis County police said in a news release that the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 10100 block of Duke Drive, in Moline Acres.

The baby was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, but is expected to survive. Police said the baby is 18 months old, but didn't release his name.

Police say about two shots were fired at the home, but it wasn't clear who fired them.

The suspects fled the scene and police say they are actively searching for them.
