Aquaport Closed for Vandalism Clean Up

June 13, 2018 - 9:48 am

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The "Aquaport" water park in Maryland Heights is "closed until further notice" to clean up vandalism.

There were pieces of glass in the pool after an overnight break in and so the pool has to be drained and refilled.

“Our pool management contractor has encountered continued difficulties in identifying the extent of the problem and completing the cleanup during this time,” said Tracey Anderson, the City’s Director of Parks and Recreation.  “Draining the pool is now considered the appropriate step to take while the cleanup continues. We regret that this has happened, and we are looking into steps we can take to prevent future acts of vandalism.  We take the safety of our residents and patrons very seriously, and we look forward to reopening Aquaport once we can verify that all glass has been removed.”

She says they will announce on th city website when the park is reopened.
