ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) - When the weather turns warm, the St. Louis riverfront will have new tenants.

Great Rivers Greenway is taking bids for vendors to line Lenore K. Sullivan Boulevard from mid-May through at least mid-August.

Vice President of Communications and Outreach, Emma Klues, says they're hoping for variety.

"2.5 million people visit the Arch grounds every year, we'd love to have a vibrant, active riverfront on the Mississippi, full of things for people to buy, to eat, to even do something more recreational -- we're open to lots of different types of vendors."

hey're also open to collaborations between organizations or businesses.

Klues tells KMOX each vendor would need plans in place to deal with changeable Midwest weather and would need mobility in the event of flooding.

A committee overseeing selection is taking bids until February 22.  Potential vendors can get a tour of the site January 25.
