Attorney Speaks Now that Gag Order is Lifted

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The attorney for the ex-husband in the Greitens' affair is talking again, now that the invasion of privacy case has been dropped. Albert Watkins says his client is satisfied that he got the story out.

“My client’s reaction is the same as anyone else that’s really been watching this. Nothing surprised him. Remember, my client has no skin in that game, my client doesn’t care, hasn’t cared, and won’t care whether the governor is convicted, acquitted, hung jury, case dismissed,” he says.

Watkins says he's not worried about St. Louis police possibly investigating the $120,000 in cash payments he received to handle the case, saying he documented the money by the book, contacted the feds, and put it in the bank.

“I think that in the grand scheme of things…the governor has far greater legal issues to worry about than whether or not this case it recharged,” Watkins says.
