ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Missouri's auditor warns the state is in a financial crisis and can't afford Governor Greiten's proposed tax cuts.

State Auditor Galloway says the Greiten's tax cuts don't pay for themselves, and could lead to a serious budget shortfall. She says the state is in a financial crisis cue to years of policies based on unrealistic growth expectations..

"We are 100 percent confident in our analysis, and the auditor's math is wrong. She simply hasn't read the plan. Her numbers are off," Governor Greitens says.

Galloway, who is a Democrat, says Missouri's budget could not handle another recession without major spending cuts, because state tax cuts and giveaways have gone too far.
