ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — This week marks the end of a musical era in St. Louis.

Beale on Broadway will be closing after its final concert Thursday night. The venue shared the news on Facebook with the quote below:

"After 18 years 3 months and 3 days we are saying goodbye here at the Beale on Broadway, There have been so-o-o many memories. It would take a week of Facebook posts to mention them all..And none of this could have happened without all of who came out and supported live music. It was the sharing of this common bond that transcends race, gender, age and nationality that makes this most beloved thing I have ever been a part of. We have two final shows. Wednesday January 2nd with Roland Johnson 8pm-12am and Thursday January 3rd with Kim Massie 8pm-12am. Come on by and drop us a memory, buy a drink, tip the band and indulge the power of music one last time. Bud"

There's no explanation for why the music venue is shutting down.
