Prep football star killed in Pike County crash

BOWLING GREEN, Mo. (KMOX) - A standout high school football player from Bowling Green, Missouri has died following a car crash with a deer.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says it happened Friday night on Pike County Road E north of MM.

The driver, 18-year-old Kaleo Dade, died at the scene.

Dade signed last month to play college football at Quincy (IL) University.

Bowling Green High School will hold a balloon launch at the football field tonight (Saturday night) at 5:30. Grief counselors will be available from 6-8 pm at the high school.

Dade's passenger and classmate 17-year-old Kyle Horner is hospitalized in critical condition, according to school officials.
