'We will see you tomorrow night': Tim McCarver was in the broadcast booth for both Buck calls

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Surely there were plenty of St. Louis Cardinals and general baseball fans around the county who heard both Jack Buck in 1991 and his son Joe Buck in 2011 using the same call of a walk-off home run during a World Series Game: "We will see you tomorrow night." But there's one person who was in the booth working as the color commentator for both calls – Tim McCarver.

The Cardinals Hall of Famer and long-time baseball broadcaster was asked about what his favorite moments have been in the booth. He said he couldn't give a definitive answer, but it didn't get much better than the combination of the 1991 World Series, with Kirby Puckett's Game 6 heorics for the Minnesota Twins against the Atlanta Braves – coupled with the Cardinals 2011 World Series victory over the Texas Rangers with David Freese's extra-innings, walk-off home run.

"I was sitting to the right of Jack Buck in 1991, and then Joe Buck 20 years later, saying that 'We'll see you tomorrow night,'" McCarver says. "And of course that meant Game 6 is over, get ready for Game 7 tomorrow night. And I think that's a really, really great tag on those series."
