Charges have been filed now in connection with Tuesday's stand-off at north St. Louis County apartment, after a county officer was attacked.

It happened in the Burrwood Apartment complex at Lucas and Hunt near I-70 when a man approached a uniformed county officer and began assaulting her, punching her in the face and stealing her Taser in the process.

The officer, despite suffering head injuries, was able to fire a shot at her assailant, who ran away and barricaded himself in an apartment for several hours before surrendering without incident.

He's identified as 46-year-old Darnell Johnson, who faces numerous charged including 2nd degree assault, disarming a peace officer and resisting arrest.

Johnson's being held on $150,000 bond.
