CHESTERFIELD (KMOX) — The number of stores open dwindles. Its highway-adjacent location is surrounded by new development. But solid redevelopment plans are still elusive for Chesterfield Mall.

But wait, you may think — wasn't there a group with plans to transform the prime location? You'd be correct.

"The vision for Chesterfield Mall is really more upscale, mixed-use, downtown, urban, retail, residential, office, theater, health club, supermarket enviornment," says Tim Lowe, Vice President of Leasing and Development at The Staenberg Group. "Kind of a live, work, play enviornment."

But Lowe said TSG only owns the Sears property. Dillards and Macys own their own buildings. A company from Georgia won an auction last year for the mall itself.

"Ultimately, all of the landowners have to come together and decide on a common goal," Lowe said.

As of last fall, Hull Property Group still hadn't talked with the city or co-owners about redevelopment. KMOX asked Lowe if that's changed.

"No, I think they've been about the same," he replied.

As of now, the only two anchors still open are Macy's and an AMC Classic theatre.
