ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - All classes have been cancelled today at Cardinal Ritter Prep High School on North Spring in St. Louis.

The Archdiocese of St. Louis tells KMOX school administration is communicating with parents relative to a "possible threat."

The school initially had a late start of 8:30 a.m. -- some students showed up, but then classes were cancelled for the rest of the day.

Additional information will be released later this morning.

Another threat

Chesterfield police confirm a threat was made toward Parkway West High School.

Police became aware of the Snapchat post Wednesday night at 10:30 threatening a shooting Thursday.

They were able to quickly identify the 17-year-old Parkway West student. But police say the student had no plans to commit a violent act, or means to carry it out.

The case has been turned over to the St. Louis County Prosecutor. Police did increase their presence at the school today.
