U.S. Bank in Collinsville robbed by man with gun

Police say he's armed and dangerous.

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) — Police in Collinsville are looking for a man who robbed a bank Sunday afternoon.

It happened at U.S. Bank on Beltline west of Route 159 at about 2 in the afternoon.

Police say the suspect demanded money and showed the clerk a gun in his waistband.

The suspect ran off with an unknown amount of cash and was last seen running northbound from the Schnuck's parking lot into a wooded area.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during this crime.

The suspect is described by Collinsville Police as: White male, 6'0-6'5 tall, 170-190 lbs., 35-40 years of age. He was last seen wearing a baseball style cap, sunglasses, an orange hooded sweatshirt, light blue pants, and brown work style boots.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
