Disturbance leads to officer-involved shooting in Bevo neighborhood

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Saint Louis Police releasing more information on the officer who fired his weapon, following a disturbance call, Tuesday night in the Bevo neighborhood in south Saint Louis.

Police say it happened around 7:30 p.m. Officers were talking to someone who called police for a disturbance at a home on Ellenwood near Morganford.

Suddenly, they heard a gunshot, took cover,  and a second shot was fired. It was determined the shot were coming from a car across the street.

One of the officers returned fire at a vehicle where the gunfire was coming from. The driver tried to flee, but was caught a short distance later.

Eventually, a 37-year old man taken into custody without incident. No one was injured.

The Force Investigation Unit (FIU) is investigating.
