Downtown STL Inc. Unveils Free E-Cab Trial Service

February 13, 2018 - 9:27 am

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - You can get a free ride around downtown in a new E-cab service being unveiled today.

Missy Kelley, of Downtown STL Inc., says the service is great for travelers coming into downtown on MetroLink who need a lift for the final mile.

"I think people are relectant to call Uber or Lyft to go three blocks, but when it's as cold as it's been, or it's raining, or you just don't have time, or frankly, if you're a woman who's wearing heels," she says.

Be prepared to make new friends on E-cab. There could be up to five passengers at a time sharing the service.

The pilot program - running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. today through June 30 - will cost $115,000, paid for by the downtown real estate tax.
