ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Baby mongoose lemur Princess Buttercup is now on display at the St. Louis Zoo.

Buttercup was born on March 19, but has now made her public debut with her mother Dahlia and father Snuffy in the Primate House. She is the first baby born successfully at the zoo, a milestone for the critically endangered species and a credit to the hundreds of hours of work contributed by the entire animal care team.

Mom Dahlia has had trouble raising her babies before, so Zoo staff decided to step in early and help, and Buttercup is now happy, energetic baby.
