ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Thursday to campaign for Senate Republican challenger Josh Hawley to defeat Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill.

Trump's son, Eric, says Missouri's Senate race is vital.
"One of the reasons your state is so important is obviously the Senate race, but look at Claire McCaskill - she voted against cutting taxes," he says. "So we have the largest tax cuts in the history of our nation. ...  Claire votes against it. She doesn't want to cut taxes, she wants to do the exact opposite, she wants to raise taxes."

Eric says his father will say what he thinks, just as he does on Twitter.
"Sometimes you need to fight for yourself. You know, my father's always been that person - somebody punches him, he punches back 10 times harder," he says, referring to North Korea and China. "Believe me, that serves a purpose. Sometimes, if somebody hits you, you have to hit them back harder."
Meanwhile, McCaskill is busy this week reaching out to younger voters, holding a series of town hall forums at colleges around the state. She is scheduled to meet with students from SLU, Wash-U and UMSL on Tuesday.
