Things looked like they might get out of hand when the Chicago Cubs and Miami Marlins benches emptied Tuesday night. But it ended but being a hilarous moment between old friends/teammates.

After Derek Dietrich of the Marlins collided with Cubs catcher Victor Caratini at home plate, both teams cleared from the dugout and bullpens. That's when Kris Bryant ran up to Starlin Castro:

Castro was with the Cubs from 2010 to 2015, but was traded to the New York Yankees, then sent to Miami in consecutive offseasons.

Although Hall of Fame and former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Bob Gibson probably wouldn't have enjoyed it. As he was known to tell his teammates, even if they were friends with an opponent off the field, they were to treat them as the enemy during the game.

In more recent decades, MLB players fake fight with each other all the time, as this video demonstrates. :
