Possibly the most amazing stat about Lou Brock was that he never went on the injured list

Our sports director Tom Ackerman visited with the 80-year-old Hall of Famer this weekend

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - "That's true." 

Lou Brock never went on the injured list through 19 MLB seasons. He confirmed that in a conversation with our sports director Tom Ackerman. Then he told a story about another famous tough guy in the St. Louis Cardinals and National Baseball Hall of Fames - Bob Gibson.

Brock explained laughing, that he was the one who convinced the Cards team doctor to pull Gibson and put him on the disabled list for an arm injury. 

"And boy, he stayed at mad at me for about five years," Brock says. 

 Brock says Gibson "got his arm straighten out" and was back on the roster soon. But
