COLLINSVILLE, Ill (KMOX) - The line stretched from the front door, through frozen foods and out to the shampoo aisle at the Schnucks Market in Collinsville, Tuesday. As hundreds of customers jumped into the clear plastic telephone tent and tried to grab as many (or at least the one winning) lottery tickets as they could.

Illinois Lottery and Schnucks partnered to give away 1,600 tickets ahead of Tuesday night's record-setting $1.6 billion Mega Millions drawing.

KMOX was there for the first two hours of the game-show style contest, which was held from 10am-1pm. The big winner of the morning was Ashley of Collinsville, who stepped out with nine tickets in her hands and shoved in her clothes.

The first contestants in line were Cindy and Norma of Maryville, Ill., who got there around 8 a.m. and each grabbed two tickets. They've probably won some good karma, as they each gifted a lottery ticket to a Schnucks employee who was with them all morning.
