ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A GoFundMe effort is underway to help rebuild a food truck that was destroyed in a weekend fire.

A video posted on the Southerner STL's Twitter feed shows thick black smoke rising from propane-fed flames that were shooting some 20 feet into the air.

A photo on their Facebook page shows the barely recognizable remains of the burned-up truck loaded on a flatbed.

The Southerner was at a charity concert Friday at the Chesterfield Amphitheater when the fire broke out.

On Thursday, the truck had to cancel an appearance because, according to a tweet, the generator was leaking gas "really bad."  There's no confirmation if that contributed to Friday's fire.

Shortly after the blaze, a GoFundMe account was set up to help owners Natasha Creek and Emily Matthes get another truck. So far, it's raised $2,100 of the $7,000 goal.
