SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (KMOX) - Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner signs another new gun law, urging lawmakers to act on a few more.

The governor signed a new law requiring a 72-hour waiting period for the purchase of all guns. Previously, the three-day wait only applied to hand guns.

He also wants to see a few other measures on his desk.

“One is a ban on the sale of bump stocks - I support that, it has bipartisan support, I call on the general assembly to pass that bill that can help increase public safety,” Rauner says.

The second is funding for schools to hire resource officers or mental health professionals.

Rauner is vowing to veto legislation regulating gun stores.
