ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Going to the home opener today? Don’t plan on getting there right before first pitch at 6:15 p.m.

Here are a couple traffic restrictions to keep in mind if you're coming downtown:

  • The St. Louis Streets Department says both curb lanes of 7th Street between Market and Chestnut will be closed for trash and recycling.
  • Market between 7th and Broadway, the north curb lane will be shut down for use as an event area.
  • Chestnut between 7th and Broadway, the south curb lane will be closed for event parking.
  • All of the restrictions will be in effect between 6 and 10 p.m.

Gates open today at 3 o’clock, and the Clydesdales take the field at 5:30 p.m.

New this year, you’ll be able to bring in your favorite empty cups like Yeti and Tervis, but fans do still have to take all metal out of their pockets for the detectors and have their bags checked at the gate.

Matt Gifford, vice president of stadium operations, says don’t forget to leave hard thermoses, backpacks and hard-sided coolers at home.
