ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Blues are on the back stretch of its current seven-game home stand, which will be their longest this season. At 2-2 through the first four games, St. Louis will need to win at least two of their next three to stay above .500 on this stretch of games.

The Carolina Hurricanes come into Enterprise Center with a 6-6-2 record, sitting near the bottom of the Metropolitan Division, while St. Louis at 4-5-3 is still trying to climb out of last place in the Central.

Chad Johnson will start in net for St. Louis, for just his second start of the year, but it will be his fourth appearance of the season. He's taken two losses with a .872 save percentage in relief of Jake Allen.

Johnson is 7-3 in his career against Carolina, who leads the league in shots on goal this season, with nearly 42 shots on frame per game.

“I can’t imagine every shot being a grade-A,” Johnson says. “But obviously they generate a lot of shots and throw pucks at the net. So it will obviously be a big game for me to try and control my rebounds and control the second opportunities if they are getting a lot of first shots.”

The Blues lineup will be missing forward Brayden Schenn, last season’s top player in terms of points for St. Louis. He’s fourth on the team in scoring this season.

Blues coach Mike Yeo says he’s not physically capable of playing at a high level, after he missed practice Monday and skated Tuesday morning.  Yeo says Ivan Barbashev will replace him in the lineup. It will be his first game since the October 27th win against Chicago.

Yeo also confirmed during his press conference that rookie Robert Thomas will move up the lineup and center a line with Robby Fabbri and David Perron, Tuesday night.

Schenn suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday’s loss to the Minnesota Wild.

Another lineup change is defenseman Jordan Schmaltz getting the start and Jay Bouwmeester will be a healthy scratch. Schmaltz is an even plus-minus skater in eight games this season. Bouwmeester was a minus-7 in 11 games.

Schmaltz is expected to skate with Joel Edmundson tonight.

With a point in tonight's game, Blues center Ryan O’Reilly will tie his career-high eight-game point streak. He has four goals and eight assists in this stretch.

St. Louis swept the season series against Carolina last season and have gone 4-2-1 in their last seven meetings at home.
