CLAYTON (KMOX) -- St. Louis County police officer Blake Snyder was fatally shot October 6th, 2016.
Wednesday, the trial of his accused killer begins with jury selection.
On the day he died Snyder responded to a disturbance call on Arno Drive in Green Park, south St. Louis County.
Trenton Forster, 20, was taken into custody after he was shot by Snyder's partner, and he faces counts of First Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action.
A prosecutor has filed a list of more than 300 potential witnesses in the case, but the state is only expected to call about 20 from that list to testify.
Before leaving office former St. Louis County prosecutor Bob McCulloch announced he would not be pursuing the death penalty in this case.
Opening statements are set to begin Monday.
