Lambert Still Falling Behind on International Flights

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Another mid-sized city gets a non-stop flight across the pond before St. Louis.

This time it's Pittsburgh, which has a similar history to St. Louis. British Airways will fly non-stop from PIT to London-Heathrow.

Pittsburgh was a major hub for US Airways for decades until the airline stripped it back to a spoke.  A new Pittsburgh airport CEO in the last three years has nearly doubled the airport's non-stop selection. St. Louis has seen similar success with Southwest Airlines recently.  Both cities now have Wow! Air flights to Iceland.  But St. Louis has sat on the sidelines and watched British Airways expand to New Orleans, Austin, Nashville and now Pittsburgh.
