Kemoll's will be "at the top of the Met" for just a few more weeks before the 92-year-old restaurant will move to Westport.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A downtown institution is closing at the end of the month.

Kemoll's is following the trend west, leaving the top of the One Metropolitan Square tower and moving to Westport.

St. Louis Magazine food editor George Mahe says while the food will remain, the view from the second-highest point in downtown St. Louis won't.

"I mean you are sitting, if you get those tables right at the windows, you are just like this close to the Arch," Mahe says.

The new name will be Kemoll's Chophouse. Mahe says owner Mark Cusumano told him although they were known for Italian, the best-selling items were steak and fish.

Kemoll's move follows revitalization in the Westport area, especially since World Wide Technology built a new headquarters there. Kemoll's will take over the old Dierdorf and Hart's Steak House spot.
