Local Breweries Get More Freedom Under New Law

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Craft beer creators have more freedom to expand their businesses under a new Illinois law.

When he signed the bill into law, Governor Rauner said it removes tired old regulations that hurt the brewing industry.

Danielle D'Alesandro with the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild agrees, noting that it will let brewers serve beer and cider from other places in their tap rooms.

“This will allow brewers to feature neighboring breweries, while also being able to highlight the innovation that comes from collaboration beers that a brewery does with another brewery either locally or nationally,” she says.

The new law also makes it easier for Illinois brewers to store extra product.
