ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - It's finally, almost here.

KMOX's Michael Calhoun confirms that the long-delayed Loop Trolley will open to the public this Thursday.

Trolley backer and Loop developer Joe Edwards says there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m., and at noon, the trolley will begin picking up passengers.

"I am thrilled; just so excited to get to this point," he says.

Edwards hopes the Trolley is a success.

"For people to see the beautiful cars, the beatiful restoration, and what this means to be able to get from one of the 10 great streets in America - the Delmar Loop - to the No. 1 city park in the United States - Forest Park - is really meaningful," he says.

Edwards says he will drive a golden spike to symbolize the project's completion.
