ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The system's been tested and re-tested, the drivers are hired and trained -- so when might you finally be able to ride the Loop Trolley?
Not before spring ends in a couple of weeks -- as had been speculated -- and not even by the 4th of July.
University City developer Joe Edwards says they're still awaiting final word from the Federal Transit Administration that they can launch trolley service between the U-City Loop and the History Museum in Forest Park.
But despite all the delays and missed deadlines, "it'll be this summer, for sure," Edwards says. "There's not doubt in my mind."

What the date will be, Edwards isn't ready to say yet, though he suggests it could still happen by mid-July.
It's taken more than $52 million to get Edwards' dream of 20 years this close to launch.
