McDonald's Joins the Fight to End Plastic Pollution

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - McDonald's unveils a pilot program to curb plastic pollution.

McDonald’s stores in Great Britain and Ireland have joined the war against plastic pollution. In September, the fast food giant will replace their usual plastic straws with paper ones.

McDonalds uses nearly 2 million straws in the UK alone, and the company says they are responding to customer demands to be more environmentally conscious.

The restaurant will also replace plastic straws in select outlets in the US, France, and Norway to see how the move goes down before deciding on a global ban.
