DAYTON, Ohio (KMOX) — While tornadoes threatened Western Ohio Monday night, local broadcasts switched to weather coverage to inform residents of the situation — however, not all viewers appreciated the warning causing a meteorologist to snap on air.

Meteorologist for Fox 45 in Dayton Jamie Simpson said while broadcasting, “I was just checking social media, we have viewers complaining already. ‘Just go back to the show.’ No, we’re not going back to the show, folks. This is a dangerous situation, OK?"

"Our job is to keep people safe, and that's what we're gonna do," Simpson went on. "Some of you complained that this is all about my ego ... Stop, OK, just stop right now, it's not. I'm done with you people, I really am, this is pathetic."

Simpson then apologized for his behavior before continuing with the forecast.
