Is Microsoft Preparing a Rival to Apple's iPads?

May 16, 2018 - 3:16 pm

(KMOX) - As soon as this summer, Microsoft could release a line of lower-cost Surface tablets to cut into Apple's grip on that market.

The new tablets will reportedly feature 10-inch screens -- around the same size as a standard iPad, but smaller than the 12-inch screens used on the Surface Pro laptop line.

The new Surfaces, priced about $400, will have rounded edges like an iPad, differing from the squared off corners of current models.

Is there enough room for Microsoft in the crowded tablet market? They tried to do this once before back in 2012 with the launch of the original Surface RT.
