If the I-44 construction in St. Louis has gotten you down lately, this might perk you up.

MoDOT announced Friday that, "due to wet pavement and anticipated weather/temperatures", road work will not take place on I-44 near Shrewsbury.

Work on I-44 near Shrewsbury is slated to wrap up by the end of this year, although MoDOT's Andrew Gates says they'll have some nighttime work to resurface that part of the highway next spring.

MoDOT has been working to widen the lanes, replace bridges and resurface parts of of I-44 since late last year. You can review their plans here.
