Moms Demand Action in Jeff City Talking Gun Control

February 20, 2018 - 11:58 am

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMOX) - Hundreds of women in red T-shirts are marching the halls of the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City, talking to lawmakers about gun control.

Moms Demand Action member Jane Courter says they're just asking for "common sense" solutions.

"I don't think you have to have Second Amendment violations to have restrictions, to have better background checks," she says.
Terry and the other moms on the trip say they hope the response to last week's Florida high school shooting will bring about some change.

Another woman participating is child psychologist Mea Kleeman, who says mental health is an issue, but, "I think we have to start at the guns."
A House Committee has postponed until next week a hearing on a bill to eliminate gun-free zones.
