Ford Pickup, Dodge Caravan Are 'Hottest' Cars in Missouri, Illinois

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A study of the most frequently-stolen vehicles in the U.S. in 2017 shows some bad news for owners of 2004 Ford Pickups and 2003 Dodge Caravans. The report by say those specific cars were the most-stolen vehicles in Missouri (Ford Pickup) and Illinois (Dodge Caravan). 

Across the entire U.S., the 1998 Honda Civic was the overall most-stolen vehicle, followed by the 1997 Honda Accord and 2006 Ford Pickup at No. 3. You can check out the full list of most-stolen vehicles, here.

Although the Honda cars dominated the list annual list last year year, they are older, pre-"smart key" models. Since the introduction of smart keys and other anti-theft technology, Honda thefts have decreased significantly.

Below are the top-10 stolen vehicles in Missour and Illinois.
