ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - If you've ever stopped in for a coffee and used the John at The Mud House on Cherokee Street, then you've been inside one of the best bathrooms in the U.S.

The bathroom was a finalist in a nationwide contest held by Cintas Corporation to find "America's Best Bathroom."

The Mud House's restroom features vintage board games covering the walls and ceiling, making it "nearly impossible to be bored in the Mud House’s restroom!"

You can see all the finalists here, coming from hotels, botanical gardens, and restaurants in New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., and more.

The Mud House didn't win the top spot, but was selected based on cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and unique design elements. The winner was J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge restroom in Sanibel, Fla., after it racked up the most online votes between August 6 and September 18.

The 2019 contest is beginning to take nominations, and you can submit yours here. The contest has been running for 17 years, and there's no sign of it stopping anytime soon.

"We’re still blown away by facilities like J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, which find new and innovative ways to make the restroom experience memorable," said Sean Mulcahey, Marketing Manager, Cintas. "This contest serves as a great reminder that investing in your restroom facilities is more important than ever because it can impact the success of your business."
