Napheesa Collier's High School Number Retired in Homecoming Celebration

December 06, 2018 - 6:39 pm

Before Napheesa Collier and her No. 1 ranked UCONN women's basketball took the court against her hometown Saint Louis University, the Huskies leading rebounder was celebrated at her alma mater. The senior forward is the first player in the banner-filled history of Incarnate Word Academy to have her number retired.

The gym at IWA on Monday night was packed with fans and supporters, the current Red Knights basketball team, dozens and dozens of former players, and the current UCONN Huskies squad – including most notably their head coach Geno Auriemma.

UCONN would beat SLU handidly on Tuesday night 98-42, as Collier led everyone with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
