New Study Will Look at Recommendations for Metrolink Safety

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Whether perception or reality, people must believe public transportation is safe in order to ride it. Kim Cella, executive director of Citizens for Modern Transit, says there's a new study underway.

“This study will look at what recommendations can be made improvements to safety and security on Metrolink related to technology, environmental design around the system, human capital deployment,” she says.

Cella says the police report crime on the system is down, CMT is getting fewer calls about problems on the line, but she realizes battling perception can be difficult. People can hear more about it at an event on June 21st at the St. Louis regional chamber. Registration is required at
