ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A St. Louis County high school student is in the hospital fighting a COVID-19 infection and is getting some emotional support from St. Louis Blues players, former St. Louis Cardinals, NBA stars, Super Bowl Champions and so many of his classmates.

Lindbergh High School student Tony Trimble (far right in photo) was taken to the hospital on Thursday and has been on a ventilator since then. He has Prader Willi Syndrome and other health conditions that put him at a greater risk to the virus pandemic. But he's fighting and has a lot of support.

A Facebook group called "Prayers for Tony Trimble" was set up to begin compiling messages from his classmates that Tony's family could show him. There was a community parade for Tony, the school's soccer and football team sent him messages and then a swarm of local and national sports celebrities sent in messages for Tony too.

Those who know him say he's a huge sports fan and plays on a local Special Olympics basketball team.

Just to name a few of the people he's received messages from: Current and former Blues players Alex Pietrangelo, Vladimir Tarsenko, Pat Maroon, and Colton Parayko, former Cardinals players Albert Pujols, Kyle McClellan, Kerry Robinson, and Scott Cooper, NBA stars Jayson Tatum and Willie Cauley-Stein, 2020 Super Bowl champion from the Kansas City Chiefs Nick Allegretti, Los Angeles Rams punter John Hekker and Mizzou Football head coach Eliah Drinkwitz.

Tarasenko even made Tony a special promise in his message:

"Once you beat this and everything is going well, you will be my personal guest at the first Blues home game."

The organizer of the Facebook group and close family friend of the Trimbles tells KMOX there are more videos from sports celebrities on the way. She also shared this message with KMOX, from Tony's mom:

"Can you please thank everyone for the outpouring of support and prayers for Tony. I am playing all the videos and although he can't respond at this time I know that he is hearing them. I am reading everything and I am so blessed with such an amazing support system and so extremely blessed to be Tony's mom."
