(KMOX)- There's still no deal with AT&T, but members of Communication Workers of America Local 4217 are still on the job.

Local President Travis Young tells KMOX that despite missing the 11:59 pm Saturday deadline for a new agreement, talks are ongoing so his members are working without a contract.

While there has been some progress on some issues, he says there's been no progress on the key sticking points: job security and healthcare.

Young says despite a $30 billion profit and benefits from tax reform, the company continues shipping jobs overseas. He says the union's lost over 60 jobs locally and 1,800 in five midwestern states.

Ninety-three percent of union members have authorized a strike.

The local represents nearly 150 workers in the metro east.
