Body Found In Burning Car Near Troy, Mo

TROY, MO (KMOX)-A badly burned body has been found in a burning car in Troy, Missouri. The Major Case Squad has been called to investigate.

Squad spokesman Joey Nickles tells KMOX the vehicle, an older model Honday Accord of Civic, was found at about 3:15 on Frenchmans Bluff Lane off Highway 47. He says police officers and firefighters made the discovery, "As they were putting the vehicle fire out they realized there was a body inside. The body is in the driver's seat. We do not know who that driver is at this piont."

Nickles says the body was burned beyond recognition. He says they don't know if it's a crime, a suicide or an accident.  

Fourteen detectives are on the case.
