Boil order issued for over 3,000 St. Louis County residents

Be sure to boil water for at least 3 minutes before consumption.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — A boil order has been issued for a portion of St. Louis County Friday morning after water pressure dropped due to a power interruption at a Missouri American Water treatment plant. 

The affected area includes parts of Overland and unincorporated St. Louis County. The area is bordered roughly by Midland Blvd. to the north; Ashby Road to the west; Page Ave. to the south; and Burns Ave. to the east.

The advisory affects about 3,300 MAW customers and is expected to last 24 hours.

Residents are advised to boil water for at least three minutes before drinking or cooking with it. Tap water is OK for washing, bathing and other non-consumable uses.
