Our original story:

St. Louis County Police have confirmed that one man is dead and another was shot at the St. Louis Galleria mall. They say the shooting stemmed from a dispute between two groups of people.

Police say they need to talk to people who were inside the mall when it happened so they can piece together what happened. They're still searching for suspects.

Police closed the mall due to an investigation on Wednesday afternoon just before 1 p.m.

Police say a male in his early 20's died at the scene and one victim was transported to a local hospital for "life-saving treatment" and is expected to recover.

Police say they are attempting to identify a "Person of interest" and released a photo on Twitter.

Police say multiple suspects are involved and that the shooting was a result of two different groups of people getting into an altercation.

A worker in the mall tells KMOX News he heard gunshots near an escalator.

Officers from several jurisdictions were on the scene in St. Louis County.

There are photos and videos on Twitter of a large police presence at the mall.
