ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Dr. Fred Buckhold is a SLU Care general internist at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital. The CDC is now taking a closer look at recommending everyone wear a mask in public, which contradicts the CDC's earlier advice.

Dr. Buckhold says if anyone needs to get a mask, it's healthcare workers right now. Asking everyone to wear a mask only makes sense, he says, if there are more than enough masks to safely take care of all doctors and nurses first. He's also not sure which masks are the right ones to protect us.

A surgical mask is probably okay, but there's no definitive word yet. He says it's like arming the general population but not the military first.
